Q. General Questions?

Q. What is a Uniform Display Case?
Answer:
The Uniform Display Case was created as a way for uniformed personnel to display awards and decorations in a manner as close as possible to how they would be worn on an actual uniform. Basically it is an image of a uniform, printed on canvas, then mounted on 1/4 inch foam board and mounted in a special frame.

Q. How did you come up with this idea?

Answer: Most retired or ex-service members all have their old uniforms hanging in the closet or stuffed in a drawer with all of the awards and decorations still attached - gathering dust and just taking up space. This is a way to take your awards and decorations out of the closet and mount them in a Uniform Display Case for all to see.

Most of the currently available awards display cases are just simple blank shadow boxes and can only display awards and decorations in a haphazard manner that does not simulate how they should actually be worn on a uniform - the Uniform Display Case solves that problem. It looks outstanding when decorated with your awards.

Q. Does this make a good retirement or promotion gift?
Answer: This is the ULTIMATE retirement or promotion gift!! What a better way to top off a distinguished career.. Everyone can chip-in and buy a Uniform Display Case for a retiring colleague.

Q. I am still on active duty, can I buy a Uniform Display Case?
Answer: Sure, the uniform is easily removed so you can update the Uniform Display Case when you get a promotion or when you are awarded additional medals, etc.

Q. What types Uniform Display Cases of do you sell?

Answer: We are constantly adding new Uniform Display Cases to our inventory as the need arises. If you think we should add a uniform to our production list, please email us here: questions@uniformdisplaycase.com

Q. What do I get when I purchase a Uniform Display Case?
Answer: You will receive the uniform display insert of a blank uniform, mounted in a frame with glass front and easily removable backing, and then you attach your own patches, medals, badges, etc.

Q. How do I attach my awards and decorations to the Uniform Display Case?

Answer: The back is easily removed and Patches are attached with double-stick tape or glue/hot glue if they are permanent and you don't need to update them, medals and pins just push-in (there is a Foam Board backing). For coins and other heavier objects it is best to use double-stick foam or hot glue. For detailed instructions on how to decorate the Uniform Display Case click here.

Q. Can you use my actual uniform to make a Uniform Display Case?

Note: The Uniform Display Case is currently out of production, please check back soon or email us for details about availability dates.

Q. I see you have some decorated and some undecorated uniforms, why?
Answer: The decorated Uniform Display Cases are displayed to show some of the possibilities of how a finished Uniform Display Case could look. The possibilities are limitless, use your imagination. If you come up with an interesting idea, take a picture and email it to us, we would be glad to post it on our website. When you order a standard Uniform Display Case it comes undecorated and you attach your own awards and decorations.

Q. Some of your example Uniform Display Cases are not decorated according to regulations. Why?
Answer: Our motto is “You Earned it, You Display it” – so you can decorate YOUR Uniform Display Case any way you choose. With the way we have designed the product, it allows you to be as close to regulation as possible, but some items simply look better if placed in a more symmetrical manner. Our basic guideline is: If you are retired or ex-service displaying the Uniform Display Case at home you can decorate it any way you choose, whatever LOOKS BEST, if you are active duty and displaying it in your official office or government facility it may be best to stick to the regulations so you don't get critiqued by overzealous onlookers. We provide the “Collar Display Area” and Display Bar” at the bottom and you can put anything you want in these areas (again whatever LOOKS BEST!). See disclaimer here
If you need to look up the uniform regulations, we have saved them here.

Q. What can I put in the Collar and Display Bar area?
Answer: Anything you want – Badges, Medals, Coins, Patches, Crests, Pictures, Memento's, Souvenirs, Medallions, Bullets, Knives, etc, etc. etc… If you come up with an interesting idea, take a picture and email it to us, we would be glad to post it on our website. For some idea's we have created a Suggestions page here

Q. Can I get a custom Collar or Display Bar area color for my unit?
Answer: YES - If you have a specific unit color or pattern that you want to use on one of our existing uniform displays, we can create a custom Uniform Display Case for your unit. Then members of your unit will be able to buy as many as they want, forever.

Q. Why can't I simply make my own Uniform Display Case?
Answer: First, we have several PATENT'S and COPYRIGHTS pending for the Uniform Display Case and it's components, so unauthorized duplication is prohibited, for questions in this matter contact legal.department@uniformdisplaycase.com

Second, we have spent a lot of time and effort to design the right methodology for mounting a 2D representation of a 3D uniform in a frame for display purposes, it is not as easy as it looks to get it right. There are many enhancements and modifications required to get the uniform to display properly.

Third, if you tried to do this yourself it would most likely end up ruining the uniform costing you more in the long run. We have designed the perfect product for displaying your awards and decorations, readymade and all you need to do is decorate it.

Q. Are the Uniform Display Cases available in stores?
Answer: They will soon be in many stores nationwide. You can subscribe for updates here: update.me.please@uniformdisplaycase.com

Q. What size is the Uniform Display Case?
Answer: The Uniform Display Case Dimensions are 28.5" Wide x 24.5" High x 1.75" Deep.
There is a 1/4" space between the Uniform Insert and the glass, so you can display items up to 1/4" thick.
    - Our unique mounting process [multiple patent's pending] enables the frame to be very thin as compared to other blank shadow boxes, therefore creating a very sleek and handsome look.

Q. This is a great idea! I would like to sell your Uniform Display Cases?
Answer: Sure, we can make arrangements for bulk purchases or drop-shipments, contact us here: wholesale@uniformdisplaycase.com

Q. How do I order my own Uniform Display Case?
Answer: You can order online here.

Q. How long after I order will I receive my Uniform Display Case?
Answer: All off our Uniform Display Cases are custom made to order, (made in the USA), and take about 3 to 5 business days to complete once ordered. You will receive a confirmation email when ordered and a tracking number when shipped so you can track the shipment online.
